On 4 August 1982, the heir to the throne was christened Prince William Arthur Philip Louis in the Music Room at Buckingham Palace. The Archbishop of Canterbury performed the ceremony with crowds gathering outside, as reported by Express Newspapers.
William was just six weeks old when his mother, Princess Diana, and father, then Prince Charles, posed for his official portrait with his grandparents, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, and his great-grandmother the Queen Mother.
Prince William was born at St. Mary’s Hospital in London on the evening of 21 June 1982, as the first child of King Charles III (then Prince of Wales) and Princess Diana.
Prince William’s own children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis also had their own portraits taken at their christenings. Although Prince William and his wife, Catherine, Princess of Wales, opted for more scaled-back ceremonies for their children.
