Queen Camilla wears beautiful £40k brooch that carries a ‘deeper’ hidden message
Queen Camilla wore a gorgeous blue outfit to Royal Ascot yesterday and her choice of brooch appears to display a hidden meaning.
Queen Camilla beamed as she attended Royal Ascot for the second day in a row yesterday. The Queen was joined in the first carriage by her son-in-law Prince William as the Royal Family put on a united front at the popular Berkshire racecourse.
Camilla turned heads in a turquoise Dior lace panel dress and matching Philip Treacy hat. She accessorised with a small Lady Dior bag and Eliot Zed suede pumps. But it was her diamond brooch that appears to have captured the most attention. The beautiful piece of jewellery is estimated to be worth £40,000 and originally belonged to Queen Mary. Diamond experts at Steven Stone have analysed the stunning brooch and noted that the late Queen Elizabeth wore the piece of jewellery on a very memorable occasion.
Maxwell Stone said: “Queen Camilla honoured the late Queen Elizabeth II by wearing her turquoise and diamond filigree brooch. This historic piece originally belonged to Queen Mary, who received it as a wedding present from her in-laws in 1893. As with much of her jewellery, it was passed down to Queen Elizabeth II. “A round cut turquoise sits at the centre of the brooch – a stone that’s long been associated with healing and peace. Although Queen Elizabeth II didn’t wear the brooch in public until 2014, she most notably wore it to address the nation during the pandemic in April 2020, a turbulent and unusual time for everyone.
“Thus, Queen Camilla’s choice of this brooch may carry a deeper message. Not only are King Charles and the Princess of Wales still recovering from cancer treatment, but the nation is also preparing for next month’s election. I’d estimate the intricate piece to be worth £40,000 ($50,800).”
The King and Queen will return to Royal Ascot today, and will once again be joined by a large number of royals. Princess Anne, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and Mike and Zara Tindall form part of the carriage procession into the racecourse.
