Reason why Prince Andrew won’t go quietly from Royal Lodge laid bare by expert

King Charles is taking urgent action to remove his brother from the £30m Windsor home.

An expert has revealed why Prince Andrew is resisting the pressure to leave Royal Lodge, as the row between the brothers rages on. King Charles has continued to put pressure on Andrew to leave the £30million in Windsor, however so far the disgraced prince has stayed put for one reason.

Over the last few months, the 75-year-old monarch has tried to encourage his brother to downsize, with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s former home on the same estate an option offered to the Duke of York instead. The King has also cut security measures for Andrew’s home, which he has reportedly been funding, however the prince, 64, is still refusing to leave, instead claiming he will be able to fund his own security team instead.

A royal expert has said that Prince Andrew’s “arrogance” is the main reason behind his refusal to leave the royal home, which he signed a 75-year lease for in 2003. Expert Rupert Bell told Times Radio: “One of the problems that Prince Andrew has is that he is occasionally convinced of his rightness, and he gets himself into hot water with his stubbornness and sometimes his own arrogance has caused him to create these problems. “He feels like he lost everything and if he loses his house, well then he probably feels that even more has been taken away from him.

“It’s an interesting dynamic between these two but King is trying in a way to force his hand but if Andrew says I can afford to live here, then there’s not much the King can do.” According to the Scottish Daily Express, a source told the Sun on Sunday: “Prince Andrew is holding firm and is determined to stay in the Royal Lodge. “He is insistent that he has the funds to pay for his own security, despite the eyewatering seven-figure sum it is reportedly costing him. “He is no longer a financial burden on the King and sees no reason why he should have to move from his home.”

Prince Andrew reportedly wants the home to be inherited by his two daughters Princess Eugenie, 34, and Princess Beatrice, 36, after him.

Although both princesses are members of the Royal Family, they are not part of the King’s “slimmed down monarchy” approach, which was adopted when he took to the throne with Queen Camilla.
